talking Parts ep15: Bliss Cua Lim

Bliss Cua Lim talks about her assessment of Cinemalaya and the current state of Philippine cinema and film archiving. She also expounds on the work she's done as Associate Professor of Film and Media studies at the University of California, Irvine, and gives a preview of her new book, “Translating Time: Cinema, The Fantastic, and Temporal Critique.”

“Translating Time: Cinema, The Fantastic, and Temporal Critique” will be released in March 2009 by Duke University Press. Her research on the film archiving crisis and the various implications of Filipino stardom will go into her second book project, tentatively titled “Troubled Archive: Race, Sex, and Language in Filipino Film Stardom.
